Rivian R2 center console organizer with sliding tray and deep lower bin

Best Rivian R2 Accessories in 2026: What's Actually Worth It

By Matt, Niftly3D

The Rivian R2 is new, and so is almost everything sold for it. Some of it is great. A lot of it is R1 gear with a new label, or products that haven't been on a real R2 long enough for anyone to know if they hold up.

This is a short list on purpose. Four accessories we think are worth it right now, why, and a few things to skip.

1. Center console organizer

The R2's center console is deep and has no structure from the factory, so everything ends up in a pile at the bottom. It also isn't shaped like the R1's. It flares wider toward the front, which means R1 organizers and generic inserts don't fit it.

We built the Niftly3D R2 Console Organizer for that shape: a sliding upper tray for things you grab every drive and a deep lower bin for everything else. It drops in with no tools, doesn't rattle, and is printed in heat resistant PETG so it won't warp in a hot car. If you want to know why the rails, tray, and key holder look the way they do, we wrote up every design change here.

It also comes in an all black Black Ops edition.

2. All-weather floor mats

Mats are the one accessory almost every R2 owner ends up buying. Rivian makes a three piece set measured for the R2, and Rivian specifically warns against using mats from other models because they can interfere with the pedals. That alone is a good reason to buy mats made for this exact floor.

If you'd rather go third party, LinerX and 3DMAXpider both come up often among R2 owners. Whatever you pick, make sure it says R2, not R1.

3. The compact spare tire

Most EVs ship with a can of sealant and a phone number. Rivian offers an actual compact spare for the R2. It stores in its own compartment under the cargo floor and comes with a tire service kit.

It isn't cheap, and you have to call Rivian to order it. But if you drive long stretches of desert highway, go anywhere off pavement, or just don't want a flat to end your day, it's the most practical piece of peace of mind you can buy for this car.

Our pick: Rivian R2 Compact Spare Tire, available through the Rivian Gear Shop or when you configure your R2.

4. A front plate mount that doesn't drill your bumper

If you live in a state that requires a front plate, Nevada included, the factory bracket means drilling holes in a brand new bumper. The SnapPlate from EveryAmp clips into the R2's lower grille instead. No drilling, no tape, and it comes off in seconds.

It's 3D printed in PETG, the same material we use, made in the USA, and it ships with anti-theft screws. One tradeoff worth knowing: take it off before a brush style car wash.

Also worth a look

A windshield sunshade: if you park outside anywhere warm, you'll want one. Check that whatever you buy is listed for the R2, since most shades on the market today were cut for the R1.

What to skip

R1 gear marked "fits Rivian": the R2 is a different vehicle. Mats, crossbars, console inserts, and shades from the R1 generally don't carry over. Rivian's own R2 crossbars aren't compatible with the R1's, for example. If the listing doesn't say R2, assume it doesn't fit.

PLA printed accessories: PLA softens at temperatures a parked car easily reaches in the summer. For anything that lives inside the vehicle, look for PETG or CF PETG.

Products with no R2 owner feedback: plenty of R2 listings went up before the car was in owners' hands. If nobody who owns one has said it fits, wait.

The short version

We'll keep this list updated as more R2 gear comes out and owners find out what actually holds up.
